European Business Case Competition

About the Event

Business Competition Overview
The Business Case Competition consists of solving cases in teams of 3 participants.

A qualification stage occurs for the EU Business Case Competition, it consists of a take home business case where each
EPFL/UNIL team will present for pre-selection. Based on the quality of the work, they will be selected to participate in the final of the EU Business Case Competition against other guest universities.

The final business case will be sent to the selected teams by mail on Sunday 8th of May. Each team will have until Friday 13th of May to solve the case and submit a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation at 8 am. At 2:30 pm the team presentations will start. Each presentation is followed up by a 5 min Q&A. The event will be rounded off with the crowning of a winning team and end with an open-ended apéro.

Participant's Feedback

"The competition brought me outside of my comfort zone, gaining experience with real life business decision challenges, while learning about myself. I learned to resolve and present solutions to problems I had not seen before while working under very tight time frames and with people I had never worked before."

"As a novice in business case studies, the BCC was very challenging. I loved the energy of the teams and how everybody was able to contribute. The jury was tough in a good way as they tried to push and get the best out of us in both cases."

"Very well organised event, giving an opportunity to practice one's case analysis and interact with consultants."
